A video editor and location director with over 24 years’ experience, Jason has worked on prime time content for terrestrial and satellite television both at home and abroad.
He has created content for major sporting events - such as the London 2012 Olympics, the World Cup, Formula One and the Ashes – and worked across a wide range of other genres including light entertainment, games shows, documentaries, as well as openers for sport shows.
Clients have included ITV, Channel 4, Channel 5, BskyB, Food Network and the American CBS network, for which he worked on the major Triumph Games series which aired nationally in the States.
Jason says one of his biggest challenges from a technical point of view has been the National Geo Genius.
“It was the National Geographic’s first quiz show and at the time got the highest audience figures for the Channel,” he recalls.
“And the programme that I’ve worked on that has probably been the most fun was The World’s Most Famous Train about the Orient Express for Channel 4.”
Jason’s career began when he was just 16 years old as a ‘cable basher’ for a cameraman on BBC’s Children in Need. Since then he has gained experience from all angles including camera work, sound, floor managing and directing. As an editor covering a broad range of genres he has earned the reputation of being a well-regarded trouble-shooter.
“Working on news has given me the ability to make a decision, while sport has given me the skills to edit under pressure because there’s always a tight turn around there. And documentary work has shown me how to tell stories and to give something pace and time. The biggest thing I’ve learned as an editor is not to be afraid to let something breathe.”
Fiona is a trained journalist, voice-over artiste and actor with over 30 years’ broadcast experience. She has worked in radio, television and theatre both at home and abroad for the BBC, ITV, Sky, Lloyds TSB, Celador and many more.
Fiona’s career began in the West Indies where she was a journalist on the Cayman Islands. Here in the UK she has worked on a variety of local radio stations as a news reader and reporter.
While providing news for three stations at once – writing and reading the headlines every half hour and a full bulletin on the hour – Fiona learned how to work under pressure.
“I would generate the stories, write the copy, carry out the interviews and go to air. You really had to think on your feet and be up with current affairs,” she says.
Fiona has worked for HTV West, HTV Wales, Anglia and Meridian as a television continuity announcer and during many years of broadcasting live, Fiona has had her fair share of hairy moments.
“I was working on television at a time when they first went digital, which was a very stressful time for TV in general,” she recalls.
“Programmes fell off air quite a lot and there would be these great gaps that you would have to fill. It was a case of remaining calm and telling the viewers that everything would return to normal soon!”
As a natural communicator and trained award-winning actress Fiona has a versatile voice and can do a variety of accents. She has provided voice-over for a number of programmes, corporate videos and adverts. She works from her own professional studio where she can record, edit and produce herself. She is also happy to travel to record in studios across the country.
Fiona loves acting in the theatre and one of her most memorable roles was that of Elvira the ghost in Noel Coward’s Blithe Spirit, a role where she was able to use her comic timing to great effect.
